N / Re: N Scale 2-8-4 won't run on DC

of note Bachmann UK informs me that ..
The dual mode decoder will work on DC and DCC . However the dual mode decoder will not work Analogue (No 10 or 0) on the DCC controller .   Doing so could damage the decoder/loco motor .

you could always fit a dual DCC/Analogue de-coder and have the best of both , Bachmann do this type of de-coder .

Hi plas man
yes there has been a lot of interest re royal hudson in n scale.
have a nice day   regards&later KEWATIN

thanks for the reply Kewatin , got your E mail , will be patient for a while longer , then maybe ''kit'' bash one , the Del-prado one looks nice , I missed on a couple of years ago at a model rail show , and only sold for a couple of UK pounds ( about 3 US dollar) ,

a Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson would be nice , along with some stock for it to haul   ;)

and pack's of wheels to fit into the trucks they already sell .

I also need parts for my loco - Bachmann UK have had it back twice under warranty , they admit it needs new wheels ( claim they don't have any to replace ) it came back with damaged valve gear on rear engine , then 2nd time came back with parts of the front engine valve gear missing , they claim its running within tolerances !

see as you are adapting a box car/ combine or whatever , why not power the said car and have a dummy loco , perhaps a 70 tonner chassis will fit in the said car/combine

according to Bachmann UK if you run DC on their fitted decoder using 0(zero) or 10 on DCC you will burn out the factory fitted decoder .

the Kato sound box is DC (Analogue) only , careful or you may burn it out if connected to DCC ,

same goes for running DC locos on DCC without fitting a Decoder , some motors will be u/s in a couple of seconds .

many thanks Mr Bach-mann , I will certainly buy a good few pack's , I'm on my 4th card(x12 per card) of trucks .

Mike C , my one item of Fox Valley has fine flange and is prone to de-rail , my track is mixture of Bachmann EZ/Unitrack and Peco code 80 .

please , is there a chance of Bachmann introducing packs of wheel's to enable rolling stock/coupler  upgrade , after all trucks are available - but without wheel's  :(

thanks KEWATIN , only modification to other CV's was - CV2 to 0 , I using a Hornby Elite/select controller set up .

for a future loco a Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson would be most welcome .
