N / question for the yardmaster re canadian road names
November 07, 2013, 02:21:20 PM
WILL bachmann continue, much to the great pleasure of cdn modellers to do cdn loco road names, which is greatly appreciated. point in question with your upcoming F7 A&B RELEASE sure would look good in cnr olive&gold as well as cdn pacific maroon &grey or even the later colours of cnr  orange white&black and cp  red with white stripes, heck why not even consider algoma central &ontario northland as well as grand trunk &western. we realize that the cdn segment is a small po rtion of your market but never the less one that surely brings in some profit,so it is with great thanks&appreciation on behalf of all cdn modellers keep them coming& we will buy as BACHMANN is one of the very few companies whom still offer CANADIAN road names so i will close hoping if their is a second run of the new F7 their will be a cdn hearald on one of them.thanking you in advance i remain commited to buy bachmann products

N / arrival of F7A&B and turntable
October 29, 2013, 12:37:26 PM
A question for the YARDMASTERafter looking at BACHMANN'S on line store i see the only product coming in oct31/13 is the baltimore&ohio unit. also states all others are out of stock, how can this be when they haven't even arrived for dispersal to dealers. same with the turntable that i have been waiting for since new product announcements  at the NMRA convention. i realize not all products arrive as announced, but
you really need to update your web page as it would be most helpfull. iwould like to purchase the above items,so could you please give an estimated time of arrival.
thanking you in advance  regards&later KEWATIN

MR BACHMANN,
being a strong supporter of bachmann products and having read reviews on your current EM1 on other n gauge forums&wanting to purchase a couple of these i am some what concerned, as there are rave reviews &negative reviews.example one purchaser bought 4 of them and had to return all 4 due to crooked pilot assemblies, bad &broken vale gear etc,but the real concern was the dealer had no more in stock to replace  his units with, the dealer even said WALTHERS had none. i don't listen to rumor or conjecture,so i thought i would come to you to alleviate my concerns #1 is there stock&do you plan do do another run if neccessary and #2 like anything new their will be some minnor issues but for the asking price, these should be miniscule.in closing i would very much like to purchase these but do nt want to be in a position of not being able to get a repair or replacement ,much like the heavy mountain, which there are many of us whom would welcome another rerun. maybe this is just a west coast problem with supply? awaiting your response before purchasing.

TONY thanks for your response&informative info,i have just came across a TOMTEK 3 stall adjustable roundhouse that would work well with my KATO track but have no idea of the track spacing, they also have a turntable for around a $200 but i could find no measurments for it ,MTS has the roundhouse for around $55  it seems to be along the lines of north american design &could be brought up to snuff without to much modifiying.but not having seen either one, i have no choice but to hope some fellow modellers would be so kind as to comment.

james, your math looks right on the money, my old eyes 73 old &even i mentioned in my original post that it looks like my connie ,&smaller locos will fit &not the big stuff.seems like i got hyped before engauging brain. what a disappointment if this is the case. my question to BACHMANN is why would you spend all the effort&money for tooling&mfg when the know they make much larger locos that would need to be accommadated, especially in lou of their new announcement of their latest 2-8-8-2.doesn't make marketing sense to me,although i am very appreciative of their
continued committment to make both large &small steam engines of excellent quality &will continue to buy them as they are released.  any thoughts about this new product would be most welcome. thanks james for your &fellow modellers for your views&comments. perhaps if someone gets one they could check up on the ability of what it will accomodate.

GREAT NEWS just checked all my bachmann big steam locos and the only ones that are just shy of the 7.5 inch bridge that may be a bit tight are my heavy mtn with long vandy tender and my 2-6-6-2., iam sure your new articulated 2-8-8-2  won't fit,but you can't have all your cake on one plate, perhaps in the future i hope there will be an update, but for now sure happyabout this release &look forward to ordering one.thanks again for publishing the diamensions .it is greatly appreciated.

MR BACHMANN iam in the process of adding an addition to my layout which will include engine facilities and i would have thought that with your sept release date you would have at least put forth in your announcement the diamensions etc.from thephoto it looks like it may only accomodate a 2-8-0 at best based on the photo od the rs3 siitng on the bridge,i hope this is not the case as i have most if not all of your big steam engines.could you please confirm what lenghth the turntable bridge is so i can make allowances for installation. i am sure other modellers would also like  this info. by the way thanks for all the new  releases in n scale ,you never cease to amaze me.

could some one please suggest what dcc ready means as it comes with an 8 pin nmra  dummy plug. asmy layout is dcc &using a nce power cab what would i need to make it operate on dcc? also wonder what lenghth the turntable bridge is?
would have been nice to see bachmann publish more info on this item as i could use one if reasonably priced. also wonder if it will accomadate the big steam locos like mts, mallets etc. any help in possible explanations  or guesses would be most welcome.

yes ,it would be nice to see a hudson or berkshire .was there not talk sometime back about a 2-10-0 ,they did one in ho along with the berkshire.i don.t see a mikado coming forth as kato pretty well saturated the market for yrs. a nice consideration would be a pacific as pretty much all roads had them.here;s hoping we will get one of the above. also some nice passenger cars like the one the came out with for their doolebug would be a nice compliment. regards &later KEWATIN

very little stock  or no stock of heavy mountains &mallets and other models, these were excellent locos and can't understand why no reruns, bachmann surely could install dcc to their 4-8-4 norhtern &j models as well their 2-6-2. they certainly in my mind have the best looking &performing n scale steamers, providing you get a good one. so do you my fellow modellers think their will be any new product announcements at this yrs convention. lets hear your comments.

N / Re: Shell removal HELP!

If your loco is only a month old, why go thru the agony of problem solving hit or miss when you
can send it back for warranty claim repair or replacement, free of charge, plus shipping of course.
i have always been treated fairly and proffessionaly in any &all dealings.

i was sent a light mtn dcc ready to replace my heavy mtn with dcc on board and when contacting service dept was told that the heavy mtn &2-6-6-2 were no longer in production 7that is why a ltg mtn was sent, this was an issue for me &i contacted  customer service for an upgrade with dcc on board&my problem was dealt with fairly&proffessionally. a quick check of all major retailers & you will see none available. i do hope BACHMANN will do another run as these were outstanding locos ,is the market saturated or is their room for more. i certainly could use more, even customer service was not sure if a nother run would be made. any &all comments would be most welcome, especially from  MR BACHMANN.

hi tony, you are quite right in some respects, maybe i am bias as i model canadian roads cn&cp. they converted most of their locos to burn oil at the dying end of steam which i amsure you know ran right up to almost 1960. in fact we have a mogul that does service during summer months, not far from my home and it is well over 100 yrs old. i do thank you for your reply and have certainly admired your modelling skills, my old eyes just won't let me try these attemps anymore but still thankfull i can be involved in the hobby and continue to get enjoyment from it,hence my original post.

dear sirs, i have both locomotives and they are indeed sweet runners &have looks to boot. if you are considering doing another run  why could you not move the headlight down to the centre of the smokebox  and maybe change the top of the tender to an oil tank.these small mods would sure be in exspensive and would give these locos a whole new look, you could also use the smaller tender on both locos..if this happens in the near future ? count on me to buy more/ also more CNR &CPR LOGOS PLEASE
many thanks for any &all considerations
