The Frisco Box cars have a good bit of weight to it. I also thought that I could get some of the replacement Tender pickups and use them.

I'm not sure what locomotives I want to put sound in plus I only have certain locomotives that I can run on my layout. I really want the sound to seem like it is coming from a certain train instead of all of them. And It just seems cheaper to do it that way instead of getting a separate decoder for all of my locomotives. Something else is that I am using the E-Z command witch doesent have a lot of amps to power all of them. :-\

HO / Re: What train sets come with N/S e-z track?
October 17, 2010, 08:04:03 PM
If you go to hobby town USA you can probably get the 2-8-0 sets. A my hobby town you can get nearly all of those set including the Acela. By the way, most of the spectrum sets also come with DCC installed other than certain versions of the acela. But they don't include the DCC remote but does include the regular controller witch runs it just fine. I have the Cavalier set and it is a VERY good set ant travels very fast without the cars on the track because the cars have lighting in them witch pulls some current so don't be worried. I think if It wasn't for that set I probably wouldn't have DCC today. I think all of the spectrum sets have a 22'' radius curve and include N/S track.  I would suggest all of the spectrum sets. I would watch the instruction videos because I got a free bachmann train from recognising the guy who does them at a train show.

Thomas1911, I have someting to say about your trains--
I like them and the shay themost. Someting else that I thought you might like to know is that Bachmann is coming out with a three truck climax in HO. I thought you would like that to go with your logging camp. Peach Creek Shops has good prices on them even in the sound models.

What about the sound models?   ???

New Choo Choo I have a sugjestion Hobby Town USA now carries sound decoders that only has a two wire connection that pics up power. you could get that is steam and leave the original decoder because the sound decoder just has sound so as far as that goes you could connect it to the track and leave it stationary. I even thought about putting it in a box car and then I could run it with any train I wanted so I would only have to have one decoder. The nice thing is that they are anly $45. Hope this helps.  ;D

HO / Re: Quiling Whistle
October 08, 2010, 06:35:00 AM
Yes, I mean Quilling. And no I haven't I was saving for the 3 truck climax but after a guy at hobby town in Marietta let me use the Zephyr controller I decided that I would like to have that right now. Other than that I haven't really use a Digitrax controller. I'm really more interested in steam locomotives but he didn't have any steam locomotives that he could use behind the counter so I didn't get to run one although he did have a sound equip diesel and liked the horn but I would like to have more of a whistle volume and pitch.

HO / Quiling Whistle

I think that there should be a better quiling option on sound equip locos like a knob on the remote or someting like that so you can control the volume of the whistle. You could make more realistic train sounds with steam locos like a real locomotive. Even with diesel locos you could make more realistic sounds. I thought it was a good idea so I wanted to see what other people thought.

HO / Hon3 E-Z Track
September 23, 2010, 09:47:44 AM
I think that if bachmann came out with Hon3 Gauge E-Z track they could make some money. I would like to have some Hon3 scale trains but no company makes any trake even similar to E-Z track in Hon3 Gauge. I think it would be very convenient. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOME REPLIES.
