HO / Re: Turntables

I checked a website (http://www.sbrhs.org/Pages/484com.html) a GS-4 would fit, 101' 5" will have a wheelbase about 98' or less, the J-Class (109' 2") is questionable, It doesn't list the Niagara, and Not the 3776 class, but the 2900 class.

HO / Turntables

I currently have a 90' turntable, and It seems quite a bit smaller than when I bought it, I'm looking into the Heljan 98' turntable, since it looks like it has an extra inch (than the 90'), and can be extended about a half inch to the lip of the pit.  Does anyone have experiance with it, pointers, reasons not to buy it other similar products that are in the same price range that are better?  Please note my current 90' turntable is the Walthers Cheap turntable, so that isn't an option.  Another thing I need to add is, all the Bachmann Northerns, the J-class, GS-4, Niagara, Santa Fe, what is the individual wheelbase for them?

Well, case closed I just took one more look, and the Drive Rod was just in a position that the main driver wouldn't go back in properly  ;D

and by the way the main driver was squeaking, I put some light grease and I can see and hear it running properly  ;D

Okay, now it happened again, so I opened up the wheels and greased what I didn't before, and now Driver #2 won't go back in! HELP!

Before I start a new topic, how long is the turntable, An E-Z track turntable is so convenient.

HO / Squeaking Mountain

I bought a Light Mountain (Bachmann Spectrum Line) a few weeks ago, and all of a sudden it started a terrible squeaking, I greased all of the moving parts on the Driving Axles, an still a squeaking is apparent.  One note I have is I left it running for about an Hour and a half, on a double-header at half speed, while I did other work and when I checked it, nothing was de-railed and it squeaked, I am open to suggestions on repairs.  (before anyone mentions it my radii is 28")

HO / Re: layout prototype and era
July 02, 2009, 09:02:20 PM
Me,
I just Freelance, as-a-matter-of-fact my layout has very little to do with the FEC, Its not even based in Florida, instead Aspen Colorado (please no comments on my layout), hence the need to base the name on the D&RGW, Denver, Vail, and Aspen Western.  Basically a modern American Tourist Railroad in Aspen, well it does have a bit to do with the FEC my Pacific is FEC, along with the J-class water car, but most of my equipment is Union Pacific, a Light Mountain, and Three Walthers Passenger cars.  I also have some other eqipment (Athearn, IHC, and Atlas).  But I think that a Tourist railroad gives me some freedom to have whatever roadname on my equipment I want.

HO / Re: HO Track w/o Road Bed
July 02, 2009, 08:42:42 PM
Yeah, all track without the built-in roadbed should fit, I have some sidings that have a VERY large assortment of brands of track (Including old Bachmann track and Atlas track), and I have yet to have a problem with it.

Thanks I will  keep that in mind, I got tired of the $40.00 observation coming right off the tracks at the turnout.

HO / Turnout Question
July 02, 2009, 02:48:18 PM
I have a few Walthers Passenger Cars, that many may know only run on 24+" radii, and I was wondering if they would work on a #5 turnout, if not a #6 turnout.
