I regret to say Bachmann I think the Ten wheeler may go the same way as the small tender. The older 4-6-0 connected to a larger more modern tender just to have DCC doesn't work for me. I'm only one person with a big mouth, but I don't think I'm alone. The loco is too odd for my liking. I can only hope Bachmann is working on something that WILL be popular like the K-4, a NYC J1, 3a Hudson, or maybe a 2-6-6-6 Allegheny. Best of luck with the 4-6-0.

The Mayfield near Cleveland, Ohio is about 23 miles from Cleveland Union Terminal. The closest Mainline Station the Cleavers wouuld have used. http://ech.cwru.edu/ech-cgi/article.pl?id=CUT The link will show you what railroads served in the 1950's/ 60's. I would stay away from the C&O Railroad even though it was headquartered at the Terminal Tower. It never ran to Cleveland. I think most folks in that era would have found a way to get to the main station or airport if a local rail station wasn't available. My family did and we had couple suburban stations availble near by until 1970's.

Interesting question. The following came from www.leaveittobeaver.org

"Finally, closely inspecting the prop checks used in the 1997 Leave It To Beaver movie shows an Ohio address of "211 Pine Street, Mayfield, Ohio."

The web site states that there are many Mayfields around the country. So, it could be almost anywhere.

I'm from Ohio so the Cleveland area works fine for me. (Note: I live in the Greater Cincinnati area)

With all that said. I like the New York Central. Go with the Twentieth Century Limited.
Or, do whatever feels and looks good to you.

Didn't see this one coming. W/lights and DCC too...Nice Bachmann, Nice.
Out of the disappointment for a K4. There are still surprises. Not sure where I'm gonna put em' but me thinks I might have to buy one or maybe two. Thanks!

For a 4-6-0 I would have preferred a larger more modern loco the tender being used. Then I remembered my Athearn 60 ft open platform coaches need a decent loco. Thinking the USRA tender in the prototype was only a temporary for the show. I started to get excited. But if this is the actual configuration. I fear Bachmann may have lost me as a buyer of this loco. As it stands. This loco looks odd. I'll need to see a prototype first.

BTW...The PRR K4's tender would have plenty of room for a decoder!  ;D

Dear Fred,
The Ten Wheeler will in fact be a Standard Line loco.
Have fun!
the Bach-man

Interesting. I thought Bachmann was progressing more towards the more detailed "Spectrum" line. I may be wrong in my definition of  what the Standard line is. So, just what is the difference between Bachmann's "Standard" line and the "Spectrum" line?

inkaneer,

I was think the same thing this AM after reading the new product announcements in Model Railroader.Unless someone else produces the K4. it will be another year before we can hope to see it. And yes, sadly there will probably be some of us who will never see a decent K4 in N scale. Bachmann is missing out.

Sadly, not close enough! WHAT, more dang UP turbines? You got to be kidding! I'm sick and tried of these UP loco's that were primarily used in the Wyoming area. What about the rest of the country? Whoops! I'm embarrassed. :o The UP Loco's are ConCors. The 70T is OK and I'm glad to see the GP7. The 4-6-0 road names are missing some popular road names with the exception of NYC and  it's good to havea choice with the undecorated models. I'll wait for the official announcement from Bachmann, but for now I'm disappointed with no K4 or M1 mountain.

The NMRA convention in Milwaukee is finally here. Are there any new announcements to be made in the N scale line? If so, how soon?

No problems at all. I have several Japanese and other foreign models. If the model runs on 12VDC it will run on a US transformer with 12VDC output.

I'm facing having to assemble a couple of the MT line couplers for an older Atlas caboose. The one piece contruction sounds very good.
Anyone have an idea when they'll be available at the local hobby shops or on line?

I can confirm the add on sets are "Cars Only."
Also, the Shinkasen looks best on larger radius curves. Check with Kato. The V11 double track set has 414mm and 381mm super elevated curves with simulated concrete ties. This may not be a starter track system, but the high speed trains look darn good on the banked curves. It's worth looking at anyway.

Volts,

I've purchased several Japanese models and trains sets from this Ebay dealer too! Prices are very reasonable and shipping from Osaka is about a week to Ohio. If they have what you're looking for. I don't think you'll go wrong.

Nice picture Mr. Leonard. Now all we need is a coupler on the J and for Bachmann to manufacture the N&W "A".  ;D
I'll settle for the "A".  Aw...Just wishful thinking here.

I received a response from Dennis Lovett, Public Relations Manager
Bachmann Europe Plc today for those who may be interested.

"I am not aware of any plans at present to produce the 'Brighton Belle'. I will however pass on your suggestion to our Research & Development Team for their consideration."

A nice surprise since I didn't expect to receive one from my enquiry.
Maybe some day they will produce the 3 five car trainsets.

Thank you Dennis.
