So these two were cancelled in 2005 not much is know other then the fact that rickety was retired in the wooden railway line the same year.

Was there any reason for their cancellation? Is there any prototypes that can be shared from years ago?

Okay so a bit to take in here are my thoughts before I read everyone else's

New items
So the Thomas 80th thing is the brakevan . I saw this coming but I had my doubts as it is not 100% a repaint .

The fuel tanker is one I should have seen coming but I thought they would do the cream tanker but regardless they are doing the CGI fuel tanker which may be out at the same time was the Milk and Tar . Honestly a good pick overall

The Ffaquarr quarry wagon is a good pick that I sorta saw coming but did not think we would see it so soon . I also thought it had happened it would have had the quarry stone load . But it did not .

The blue open wagon I did not see coming and I honestly thought the only reason why they did not announce more open wagons in N scale was because they wanted to do the ones with the coal load but I got proven wrong as they just announced more this year that don't have the load . The blue wagon is retired in HO so it was a shocker but nice to see none the less .
Mr Jolly's chocolate wagon I did not expect to see but I am not surprised it happened . It is a good seller in HO scale and I'd imagine it will sell well.

The fact we got more large scale stuff is crazy .
The funfair vans are cool to see . I am not shocked they did them .Id imagine these will sell well .
The milk tanker coming back was a shock.

Okay as for the retired products .
Tar tanker is one that I am shocked lasted so long in G scale but it is gone. The Peco NG wagon took a long time to be finally retired but it is gone now.
The raspberry tanker is retired which honestly again I am shocked it lasted this long . But I wish they retired the diesel co tanker instead of it .
The sodor co wagon was a shocker but I could care less for it .
Nothing major was lost but something huge was cancelled .
Knapford being cancelled is such a let down . Please Bachmann if your gonna announce something actually commit to making it . This is the fourth time this has happened in the past three years and honestly, I'm getting sick of it .

Only a few days left
I honestly thinking more CCT otherwise known as ulilty vans .
Brown
Cream with red
Blue with white

And Possiblely Gordon's special expess coaches .

And I honestly think we might see a van for the Thomas's 80th thing.

For narrow gauge I feel like it's gonna be a skip however maybe the red model era coach . Or British narrow gauge stuff .

For large scale I'd say skip .
For n scale I'd say Gordon's express set and maybe red express coaches .

Honestly I could see HO scale get more plank wagons or cattle vans . But I just think plank wagons maybe better to do with more loads . Or something . Cattle vans could be a new tool completely rather than the tool that they have been using so I think that as for repaints . The CCT vans are the perfect offering to expand upon.

So 2026 will be different with the catalog having announcements and Quarterly announcements which is really cool to see . And is the first change to the announcement system since the NMRA announcement introduction .

So we will still get the announcements at the catalog
But also quarterly announcements though out the year
So
Q1 - Catalog
Q2
Q3
Q4
Not all of these will have Thomas announcements
We know that the catalog will have Thomas stuff . Such as a paint schemes maybe new variants . And we know that there will be a product that pays tribute to the 80th anniversary of Thomas as a character .

Quote from: EtherealEclips3 on December 16, 2025, 11:59:29 PMHi there,

I would personally like to see the following below as part of the 2026 announcements.  :)

N Scale
- Edward
- Rosie
- Mavis
- Mail Trucks
- Troublesome Truck Variants

HO Scale
- Iron 'Arry (re-introduced)
- Iron Bert (re-introduced)
- Whiff
- Scruff
- Hiro

Narrow Gauge
- Luke
- Duncan (re-announced)
- Narrow Gauge Troublesome Trucks

I would absolutely love to see old classics like Stepney, Class 40, Murdoch and Duke however, understanding Bachmann's decision making process, they always like to (for the most part and currently) draw ideas from the CGI era. I do hope they get more creative freedom from Mattel and secure reasonable costs to produce classic characters in future however, for now, I believe CGI is the main focus.  :D

Whiff and bringing back Arry and Bert are solid ideas .

Hiro seems a bit to big since Scotsman is in development. But I'd love to see him . However here is an idea that I have

Since Thomas is so popular in Japan that Hiro would be a good idea . Why not make Kenji . A lot of American people want a O series with and without a face .
Kenji and his coach would share a lot of the same design and while idk how they could possiblely use parts of the design for the coach minus the nose and moving eyes of course .

Sir Handel is out this is sooner then I thought .
The 80th vans and DCC Thomas and Percy are said to be out by the end of the years so we will see them in the next few weeks . No update on the the DCC set but I assume it will be out very soon .

The DCC set and the narrow gauge gonalas could be the start of 2026

Into spring I think the Open coach, the new tankers , and the narrow gauge gunpowder vans will come out around then.

I really think Railway infrastructure is a good way to go . Especially now that we have the human figures . As for some new buildings that would either be a snap together or plastic or whatever. I suggest a coal hopper fuel depot. Possibly a carriage shed or Sodor shipping co building . Maybe some cargo just for the background like some barrels. Or what about a boat or more cranes .
But those are just kind of my ideas I don't know if all of them would be feasible if any of them could be . I think when it comes in terms to buildings they could just bring back what they had at one point . Maybe make them all universally fit on one platform type that you sell separately to reduce cost.

S scale is something that is pretty obscure now days
American flyer is all I can really think of for it . Honestly, I don't see it generating a lot of sales . Z scale I see it being cool to make Mike Rex Bert but honestly I just don't think it would ever happen as they also don't make that type of track or anything Z scale .
Maybe a free rolling Mike Rex and Bert that fit on Z scale track . But I don't know how you would even release that.

One idea that I do have for sort of like an expansion of the line up is maybe a Williams EZ road Bertie . But idk .
Or maybe EZ track British buffers. Or maybe some scene scapes grass and turf that resembles sodor . There are definitely some cool trees that you can do. And even a decent amount of plants you can do.  A Sodor signal pack is something that I have not seen anyone really think of . Bringing back the resin buildings and the other accessories could really elevate all of this . Sodor signs and platforms and coal hopper or diesel fueling tank .

Very nice suggestions I really that we definitely need some more variants . I have been suggesting Spencer's brake coach for a while and I think a silver Spencer would sell very well and would be great to release alongside it . Emily with a number 12 would be very nice to see as it is the current version of her and also since we have engines 1 through 11 .

Something I really want to see that I think would be perfect is Diesel 10 . I have suggested him for a while but he is so popular across the fandom and the fact that he is from the model era makes him a classic character . He is also a large diesel which is something that not counting daisy who is a diesel railcar is something we don't have . Not to mention he is a villain. He is the villain he is the ultimate villain of Thomas & Friends .

Another addition that I really think we need in the range is Trevor the traction engine he is an iconic piece of the island of sodor . Being an Awdry character and appearing in the shows intro from season 8 all the way until season 18 .

I would also like to see some rereleases of retired wagons specifically the M wagon which has became a meme in the fandom and the well wagon which is a really nice piece of rolling stock . In addition, I would like to see Judy and Jerome as we need a breakdown train for the line . And the works unit coaches which can be used in a number of different setting. And they would pair well with Ryan and Daisy as Judy and Jerome are on the same branch line as them .

Hector would be nice for a new named rolling stock character as he stands out and could be really fun . Rebuilt S.C Ruffy would also be fun to see get made.

I would love to see more utility vans and more cattle vans which are some rolling stock that we don't have much of

Overall, these are some of my ideas for 2026

OK, so it seems the DCC Thomas and Percy are arriving before the end of the year. Glad to see this happen
So I think the late 2025 shipment will be DCC Thomas DCC Percy classic logo van 1945 van and maybe the large scale DCC set.
Sir Handel seems to be early 2026 .If I were to guess the gondolas will come out around the same time .
We don't know for sure about the tankers and the open coach possibly the same time as Sir Handel but I honestly could see be into late  spring 2026 .

The gunpowder wagons are nice and we are missing the tan one . Which I feel we will see very soon . I feel these will be spring or summer 2026 .

Now as for products that are still upcoming Here is the following status for some of them And my guesses for when we can see them come out .

Sidney and Mainland diesel are going along well and we will see samples of them in early 2026 (maybe they will release Q4 2026 )
Salty needs a quieter motor before release (maybe he will be out in fall or summer 2026 )
Flying Scotsman flyer says late 2026 but these flyers are not right most of the time (I would honestly say mid 2027)
China clay wagon confirmed to be in development however load is a new tool however this could be in any stage (I will guess the end of quarter 3 or quarter 4 of 2026 )
Flat wagon with a diesel load I don't remember if we got an update on this I think it was mentioned on a Thomas Tuesday (I could see this come out as early as summer 2026 or as late as early 2027 )
Troublesome Truck 7 apparently some design ideas have been going into this and how the face will work being fit on it but aside from that no real update (I could see this in quarter 2 or quarter 3 2027 )
Bulgy we have actually seen a 3-D printed sample of him ( I could see him come out Summer or Fall 2026)

So it seems sir Handel has been delayed yet again .
On the bright side the 80th vans should be out by Christmas .
The gunpowder vans painted have been shown off as well .
Alongside the new tankers.

I expecting the express coaches however I feel Bachman is trying to get the narrow gauge backlog finished up . But I imagine we will see them by early 2026 .

Salty the class 08s troublesome truck 7 china clay wagon flat wagon with fuel loads  flying Scotsman and knapford are some products in HO we don't have much info about . I wonder what will be the focus next .

I really hope nothing else gets cancelled but on the topic of the cancelled items and the fact that Bachmann has hinted more RWS wagon I think that the Brakevan from the canned 80th set could happen .
Another cancelled item to revisit is the McColls Cattle wagon to add more cattle wagons to the range as in recent years Bachmann has expanded the plank truck , tanker,  and vans . But not the cattle wagons .

With all of this talk about the brakevans I do say I have to agree that the BR 20 ton brakevan is a good option for N scale however I don't imagine we will see it in mutiple colors just as the spikeful breakvan .

It is in all of other scales .
