The post was really a rant. Previous research was not done before buying a product.
I have a copy I saved and the tone of the voice was very obvious.
I see this once in a while in other forums also when the person did not look into what she or he was buying.

Rich

I'm sorry Rich, but with all due respect, you don't know what the hell you are talking about. I read everything that was available at the time. From mag reviews to Boards and individuals posts, to the Bachmann AND the Soundtraxx websites and the CV list was not made available until after alot of people ordered the boards. The fact is that the EM-1 board is the first Spectrum board that does not include the feature I most wanted. The 4-8-4, 2-6-6-4, 2-8-0, 4-8-2, 4-6-2, 2-10-0, and 2-10-2 ALL have DDE enabled.. There was no reason to not expect the EM-1 to have it. As for the tone of my voice, at least it's new.I don't copy and paste my put downs of other people. I've viewed many of your responses to peoples posts and the underlying theme is condescendance. Most of them are, as you would call them impolite"rants".
I apologize in advance to and beg forgivness from all for my "rant" but ignorance/arrogance should not go unchallenged.

Like richg said you should do your homework before purchasing any product.

Jerry

Agreed. But here's the kick. Bachmann obviously doesn't want that info HERE so people CAN do their homework.

So it's the policy here to delete posts that don't speak glowingly of Bachmann products or policies? (ie ultra dissapointing EM-1 sound)

What you could try is to run a buss wire to the furthest point on your loops. That would make it only 7 feet worth of rail resistance to deal with. Like they've said "more is better", but halfing the distance is a good start.

HO / 2-10-4 problem
December 24, 2011, 07:01:33 PM
I just got (new) a funny running loco. It runs slow in forward and once you put it in reverse and move it, it keeps on going even after the throttle is returned to "0" AND the direction is set to forward or brake..Kind of funny.... ;D I swapped decoders AND tenders with other 2-10-4's and it made no difference. :o

How many different wiring schemes are used for tender to engine connections, and which units use them. I want to form a list of what tenders can be swapped with what engines.

General Discussion / Re: 2-10-4 "Texas" Texas Pacific

They do have a 2-10-4 "Texas" in their lineup.  http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=3002. I don't know how true to the original it is as it shares the same boiler as their 4-8-4,but I have three of them and they run great.

HO / Re: Exploring the Spectrum EM-1, 2-8-8-4

Not many people know, but during the war, Santa Fe needed more motive power. So a few guys snuck into B&O's yards and stole one of their EM-1 engines. When they got it home they realized the tender wasn't big enough so they borrowed one from #5026, a 2-10-4 which was going through an overhaul, and spliced it onto their booty engine.  ;)

It doesn't look like you can plug  a regular Tsunami in there?

Mine just came
17-1/4 inches coupler to coupler with the draw in the long hole

Could I trouble someone for the length of the seperate engine and tender?

I do have the IPB for the tender, but getting the front off is as far as I've been able to get.

HO / Niagra Tenders
November 23, 2011, 11:08:59 AM
Greetings all. How do I get the decoder out of a Niagra's tender? I want to stick a Tsunami in there but all I can do is get one end of the tender off. Any thoughts?
