Quote from: Radioguy on March 06, 2019, 01:20:48 PMI'd imagine that if someone wanted to invalidate it they could do so easily. It's a trivial design, and already implemented in other scales. I don't think that you can patent size?
Ooh, just noticed this:
Looks like Daniel mentioned N and Z specifically. The again, GATR Works has one, which may mean they have a different design, as Bachmann might as well.
Quote from: ACY on February 23, 2019, 07:19:01 PMI'd be careful with that advice. I have the last run, and it's not DCC friendly. The tender is decievingly easy to install a decoder in, but the motor isn't isolated properly so you have to take apart the engine too. Other people have said it's an easy install though, so I'm thinking part of the run was DCC ready, but not all of it.
You can always install your own sound decoder and speaker so you don't have to wait, who knows when they will make one.
Quote from: Len on January 23, 2018, 10:10:16 AMI'd be all over that. It would look great, and might even be able to pull one or two of my [Other company's very expensive and non-rolling] Amsleds. Now to decide, Brunswick green or Congressional silver/red...
I'd like to see Amtrak put one in a "Heritage" GG-1 tuscan 5-stripe paint job. Just because.

Quote from: Len on August 13, 2017, 08:37:56 AMRapido's $350 MSRP FL-9's would like a word with you.
But considering it only runs between 3 cities in Florida, I suspect there will not be enough demand.
New Haven's FL-9's operated over a lot more territory than Brightline. And, even though there are New Haven fans as far away as Finland, "Not enough demand" seems to be the stock response to requests for an accurate and affordable ready-to-run FL-9.
