I agree with Matt and much prefer the battery powered lighting.   I was looking over the track powered cars and noticed that they come with metal handrails while the battery powered cars have the old plastic handrails.

I would love to see the metal handrails and battery powered lighting become the standard.

General Discussion / Re: Different Road Numbers
February 18, 2007, 10:08:40 AM
Ny vote goes to doing runs of 4 different numers, and all reruns of the same item in four different numbers.

I believe it would be a good business decision and increase sales!

Large / Rail Truck Questions & fix
February 13, 2007, 09:19:42 PM
TOC and others

Just dug out my rail truck to put it in service and remembered that there were some gear box issues and a fix posted by TOC (I think) on the old board.

Question one:  Do all rail trucks have this problem?

two  If all do not have this problem, how can I tell if mine does needs the fix?

three  If it does need the fix could someone who has the procedure please repost it?

I have not run it yet as I do not want to damage it.
As always all replies are greatly apprecioated!!

Well at last there is a non Christmas set with an Annie, that is a first.

Bach-man,  Any chance of you listing the item numbers for the new items?

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.  Even though there was no damage to the packaging I would photograph all the damage and file the claim anyway.   Look the box over very carefully to see if there isn't an accordian look to one of the corners, or evidence of crushing, even minor crushing of the foam insert, as this would be evidence of the item being dropped.  if you find any evidence photograph it as well and push hard on Fedex to make things right.  You should also contact your seller and ask him or her not to use Fedex but USPS or UPS instead, and be sure to let FEDEX you are doing it especially if they refuse your claim!!

If all else fails you could possibly make up a lot of your investment but selling the parts of the sets seperately on Ebay.   I just saw a broken engine sell for over $60 bucks!!!! :o :o ::) ::).  If you sell the cars and track and transformer you may not only break even , but actually male a buck or two!  It happens every day on Ebay.

Bach man,
We appreciate your asking and I will keep my hopes up.  I used the search feature on the old archive very heavily, and it saved me lots of time.  I actually used it like a library of topics I wanted to use for future needs.  An example is the fix for the Rail Truck,  I have one sitting around yet to be fixed and now will have to start over to find the info.

I could give many other examples.

Regards

Hey dude,

To me the E&P 4-4-0 is just about the prettiest Bachmann Loco ever made,  Others think so too.  The E&P 4-4-0 sells for about $375 & up on Ebay.  If you really want one I'd grab it at the trainworld price.

Did you actually check t see if they still had an E&P unit?  I have heard they sold out of that roadname.

Good luck

Charlie,

The number for the new F&CC Fn3 car is 88097 and the road number is 540,  I saw one at a friends place and it is huge with incredible detail, and pretty heavy too.

Andre,

The price may not be as bad as you think,  I saw a replacement can motor sell on Ebay for $32 Just a few weeks ago.  There are some up for bid right now That look cheap, so far just $6 with 4 days to go and 4.75 shipping.  Try pasting the lines below to see it

Hope it helps.

Hi Guys

I definitely rate the Connie as the best running, most bullet proof Locomotive Bachmann ever made.

Have to second the comments on the Sierra Soundtraxx sound board.  It sounds fantastic, and several in my club thought it was a Phoenix!!

DVO,

Since it was working before the deraililment, it may be just pressing the wires back into the plug may not be enough to make contact.  Y ou can check to see if the sound module works by touching the ends of the two wires together momentaily to see if the chuff sound can be heard.  If it is not heard then be sure you haven't turned down the volume or shut the sound off.  If the sound works, then you will have to replace the plug.

Good luck.
