General Discussion / Re: DCC controller functions
June 17, 2026, 04:21:08 PM
Hi KPAnTX,

Unfortunately, the E-Z Command and E-Z Command Plus controllers don't have the ability to program CVs. You will need a more advanced command station or programming software to set CV values and assign functions.

Hi KMClark,

We appreciate the suggestion. We don't have any sleepers in N scale right now, but it's something we'll consider for a future introduction.

I suspect you are an AI... how do you have a post, but your post count is zero (look on the post)
We have post counts disabled for all users across the forum. However, I did check that user's profile and suspect it's a spam bot. I've banned them now.

Hi Tom,

There are a few small clips on the inside of the body shell that clip into the chassis. By gently prying the sides of the body from the chassis, you should be able to gradually unclip the shell and remove it.

To help keep the clips from reattaching, you can insert a business card or similar thickness material in the gap between the shell and chassis to keep it separated.

As of right now, our plan is to make those cars exclusive to the set.

It does not have a DCC socket.

For now it is only available with DCC Sound on Board, but we'll consider DCC Ready for a future release.

HO / Re: Durango & Silverson, DCC ready?

Hi Sean,

The Durango & Silverton set loco has had an 8-pin connector since it was first introduced. For the next production run, we will be upgrading it to a 21-pin connector, but the sets on the market currently all have the 8-pin connector.

Quote from: BrentM on May 01, 2026, 07:12:30 PMQuestion? Is there any way using the included power pack/controller to slow the train down? It seems to fast and jerky as it goes back and forth.

Thanks.
You should be able to use the knob on the speed controller to adjust the speed, just like in a conventional setup.

HO / Re: Jerky Operation with EZ Command Plus
April 30, 2026, 11:24:06 AM
Hi Erik et al,

We tested two E-Z Command Plus units and were not able to replicate the issue. I think you may have unfortunately gotten two defective units. Did you get the replacement directly from Bachmann service, or from a dealer/online store?

Also, unlike the original E-Z Command, the Plus uses a digital potentiometer instead of an analog one, so I don't believe it is an electrical contact issue. Can't say for sure without having our repair techs inspect it.

Please contact the service department if you have any more questions.

Thomas & Friends / Re: The Everything Thomas Topic
April 20, 2026, 09:40:53 AM
Quote from: travel_is_fun on April 19, 2026, 05:43:30 AMForgive me if these questions have been answered, but I have a few questions for the Yard Master.

- What are n-scale LSBC Thomas and Origin James' projected release dates?
- And will the NMRA brochure in August have more Thomas announcements in other scales besides HO? (I don't want a repeat of last year's where only HO scale were announced.)
N scale LBSC Thomas is currently scheduled to arrive in October; we don't have an arrival month for Origin James yet, but we expect it to be before the end of the year.

The mid-year announcements have not been finalized yet, we'll make sure to share when we have updates.

The DC version of the Shay was first announced in the 2000 catalog, I believe they started shipping in 2001.The Soundtraxx Tsunami DCC Sound version was announced in 2008.

It is currently scheduled to arrive this fall.
