Thomas & Friends / Re: Bachmann Sir Handel thread
December 03, 2025, 09:20:01 AM
We don't have a date decided to restart development on Duncan, or if we'll be able to do so. If or when it happens, we'll make sure to let everyone know with an official announcement.

Hi Illair,

Our remote/DCC turnouts have a manual switch on them to throw them by hand.

You can operate DC trains on the E-Z Command Plus using address zero. We advise to limit the amount of time running DC locomotives on DCC, however. They are not designed to be operated at constant voltage for extended periods of time.

Thomas & Friends / Re: 80th anniversary preorders when?

Quote from: JesseBear on November 15, 2025, 02:45:58 PMI keep going to the Bachmann website to order the Anniversary Vans HO scale 77419 and 77420 but it still says Coming Soon.
Hi Jesse,

We do not do pre-orders directly through the Bachmann website. If you want to-preorder, you will have to contact your local hobby shop or an online store.

Once the cars arrive at the Bachmann warehouse, and after we ship them out to our retailers, we then make them available for purchase from our website once they are in stock.

Hi Bob,

Yes, you can purchase additional pieces of auto-reversing track. For HO scale we have item nos. 44548 (9" straight) and 44549 (18" radius curve.)

HO / Re: Dcc ready 8 pin
October 28, 2025, 09:07:31 AM
Hi Scooter,

The USRA 0-6-0 can take decoders but they have to be hardwired. Wherever you read that there is an 8 pin socket, it was an error.

QuoteI bought a BACHMANN Hudson 4-6-4 New York Central 5438 (I haven't received it yet). It will be on display at a furniture boutique. My question is, what else should I buy? I want it to light up and make sounds while standing on the tracks. I need it to be beautiful... I'm confused by the catalogs.

Hello Yuriy,

If you place a set of E-Z Riders (item no. 42901) on the track, and place the locomotive on top, this will allow you to operate the locomotive lights and sounds while it sits in place:

Hi Alfredo,

In order to disable the blinking ditch lights, program these two CV's:

CV 124 = 0
CV 159 = 0
This will disable any buttons from blinking the ditch lights. To prevent the quill from blinking the lights, program this sequence:

CV 201 = 4
CV 202 = 19
CV 203 = 80 (default is 208)
CV 204 = 251 (default is 251)

Hi King,

We appreciate the suggestions. If we do any redesigns of existing products, we do plan to keep the moving eyes because we consider them a major selling point for the engines, but we can look into improving performance.

Quote from: Awesometrain77 on September 07, 2025, 10:17:58 PMI really hope nothing else gets cancelled but on the topic of the cancelled items and the fact that Bachmann has hinted more RWS wagon I think that the Brakevan from the canned 80th set could happen .
This does give me an idea: IF the Open Wagon, Closed Van, AND the Brake Van was already made (maybe even throw RWS Thomas into the mix too), but they couldn't ship it due to the situation a couple months ago, could they alternatively make it as a "train pack" set akin to the Tomy/Tomica rolling stock sets released back in the mid-2000's? Instead of including the track as the "sets" they usually make it as, couldn't they do it as a "value pack" looking like that, only for Electric Trains? Just throwing it out there as an idea so that they can potentially be "uncanceled" since it sucks that the only thing I was looking forward to was the brake van because of how different it was in basis...!

The decision was made to cancel the set before production began, so we don't have Thomas or any of the rolling stock actually made.

N / Re: Auto Reversing System #44847
September 09, 2025, 03:56:57 PM
Hi Frank,

To get started with the Auto Reversing System you will need item 44847. It includes a special speed controller that is needed to make the electronics work, as well as a hardwired piece of straight track with the track power wire attached (different from the standard red power wire.)

We do have additional track pieces available to expand the system, 5" straights (44848) and 11.25" radius curves (44849). However, they will not function without the special speed controller and power wire track from the starter system.

Hi Bill,

We are sold out of the sound module at Bachmann. You may still be able to find it at a dealer or second hand.

They will both be arriving at a date to be determined in 2026.

Hi all,

I corrected the spelling in the thread title.

Matt will have more to share about Flying Scotsman on the next Thomas Tuesday livestream.
