General Discussion / wiring switches and led's
June 22, 2013, 02:43:30 PM
Another wiring question. Can any one supply me with a wiring diagram showing me how to wire in switches and LED's on the control panel and to the following areas of the layout:
1) switch (SPST or Buchmann turnout switch provided?) on control panel with a BIPOLOR LED also on control panel, then wiring to the turnout.
2) switch (SPST or DPDT ?) on control panel to light (LED) also on control panel then wiring to the track.
One more question should these LED's have resistors wired into each of these applications?

General Discussion / wiring turnouts
June 22, 2013, 02:08:44 PM
I went to a clinic on wiring, one of the things that told us was to put in a jumper from each of the tracks to the moveable track. This was so if the moveable section gets dirty you have power problems with your trains. My questions can this be done with the Buchmann turnouts? I looked at one of mine, it doesn't look possable or easy. Any suggestions?

HO / DCC Control
March 20, 2011, 07:09:42 PM
I am about to build a layout. I want to operated it as a DCC controlled layout. The equipment I have is all Bachmann. I was at a train show in Lacrosse today and talked to a club, which is run with DCC control. The member tells me That I should use "Digitrax" equipment, that it is the best and will allways work with old equipment as they upgrade their equipment. How do you all feal about this? I plan to have about 20-25 loco's which I would run at the most 4 at a time. I don't think that I need an costly system. Thoughts?

HO / Circuitron Tortoise Switch Machine
August 05, 2010, 02:39:47 PM
Can the Tortoise machines be used on Bachmann Turnouts? If yes, are there any articles with pictures/instructions available? I have both DCC controlled and remote controlled switches. I'm thinking on converting just the non DCC switches with the Tortoise. Does this make any sense?
