HO / Convert Hook and Loop couplers to Knuckle couplers
January 01, 2015, 09:43:10 PM
I would like to convert the hook and loop couplers on my Hogwarts Express train. Does anyone know what knuckle coupler conversion kits I would need to do the job? The Hogwarts train is from a Bachmann set from 2001.

HO / 2-8-4 Berkshire Steam Loco
November 15, 2011, 09:22:23 PM
I have a Bachmann steam locomotive model #50904 which is a 2-8-4 Berkshire, I need a cow catcher as mine was damaged from a fall. When I search on this site for parts the cow catcher is not listed on the replacement parts list, however there is a similar looking cow catcher for the 2-10-2 steam that is available. Does anyone know if this part would fit my model? The pilot truck was also damaged and I was able to locate the replacement on this site. Hopefully someone can help me. Thank you.

Large / I Need Clowns
October 09, 2011, 10:01:57 AM
I need to find some clowns that will fit into the boxcars of the Emmit Kelly Carnival Train that Bachmann sells. So far my searching has gotten me nowhere, I find clowns that are either too small or too large. Does anyone have any ideas where I can find the clowns I need?

Large / Power Issue
October 08, 2011, 08:41:47 AM
I recently became a member of the Texas Transportation Museum in San Antonio, with that membership I also recieved a membership to thier G scale model club. I've been modelling N scale and HO scale for quite some time but G scale is a new venture for me. The club seems to be having a power drop off on the layout they take to model train shows. It seems like a simple set up, 5 independent loops with no grade inclines of any sort. However they seemed to have had a lot of issues with lack of power during the last show. They dont run multiple engine consists, usually a single engine with about 10 cars is the norm. I would like to help remedy this issue for them. Is there a big difference in the power requirements on a G scale layout compared to HO or N?

N / 2-8-0 Consolidation issue
April 17, 2011, 10:11:18 PM
I am having an issue with my Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 Consolidation, it stops running when I switch directions. I can put it on the track and run it for as long as I want until I stop and switch directions, then it seems to be dead with only the headlight operating. Does anyone have an idea of what could be going on with it?

HO / passenger car lighting
March 20, 2011, 10:28:51 AM
This would be a question for DC layouts. Would it be possible to add a capacitor to a passenger car's lighting circuit to help keep the lights from flickering while going over breaks in the track circuitry? Another advantage could be to allow the car's lights to remain lit when the train is stopped.

N / Texas Special
February 01, 2011, 10:32:11 PM
I was just at a model railroad train show and I found an N scale GP40 with "Texas Special" paint scheme numbered 101. The chassis has Atlas markings on it. My question is does anyone remember a Texas Special line ever being run?

HO / Union Pacific U36B
December 24, 2010, 05:48:26 PM
I recently purchased an assortment of HO scale engines and rolling stock at a train show. In this lot was what appears to be a Bachmann U36B with UP #824 paint scheme. I can't find anywhere on this Bachmann site that they even made a U36B in HO scale. I need a PCB for it and am having trouble locating one. Any help would be appreciated.

N / Knuckle coupler for Black Widow
August 25, 2010, 10:02:50 PM
I have the Bachmann Spectrum F7a and b Black Widow Southern Pacific set and they have the rapido couplers on them. I would like to convert them to knuckle couplers but I don't know which couplers to use. There seem to be so many out there these days, how do I choose? I do have the Kato Santa Fe El Capitan passenger cars that are equipt with Kato's version knuckle couplers so I would like something that would match well with those cars. Any help would be appreciated.

N / Lightweight or Heavyweight
August 20, 2010, 11:35:51 PM
I am venturing into passenger rail, new to me since I live in South Texas and passenger trains are few and far between. I'm confused as to how to determine if passenger cars are lightweight or heavyweight. However, I recently purchased some used passenger cars from my hobby store, three Atlas Rivarossi "Chicago and Northwestern" cars and three Lima cars that have italian decals on them. I also purchased a Kato "El Capitan" set. Anyway, I could use any information on the subject.

Thanks,

HO / Bronco rolling stock
April 03, 2010, 09:58:53 PM
Has anyone ever heard of a brand of rail car rolling stock called Bronco? I was at my hobby store today and they had received a few rolling stock cars made by this company and we were wondering if anyone had ever heard of this company. The packaging looked old but in fairly good condition.

N / loss of power through the turnout
October 31, 2009, 09:06:32 AM
I am using Bachmann EZ-track with #44861 and #44862 turnouts, however I am having a loss of power when my engines travel through the turnouts when they are switched to the curve side. Is there an easy remedy for this problem?
