Can I put a standard remote switch on a length of track that carries a train that needs 22 inch radius curves. I intend to make a loop that will have a 18 inch radius curve for a freight set.
My other part of the layout has 2 number 4 switches.

Is there any difference in the length of the track?

When I purchased my first set my hobby store suggested number 4 switches due to long passenger car and 22 inch radius curved track. I am now ready to expand and noticed there is no price differential between number 4 and 5 switches. What is the difference? Is the length of the track the same and what do you recommend. Thank you.

I am considering the Bachman Echo Valley Express to get into DCC. Set comes with ez mate couplers. Whats involved in changing these to magnetic couplers? Do any Bachman sets come with magnetic couplers ?

I have a Bachman Spectrum Acela express and am very happy with it. Now looking to expand into DCC and would like your opinion on the Bachman Echo Express that comes with Bachman DCC controller or getting a Bachman Spectrum loco and MRC explorer DCC.
Also, does Bachman make spectrum freight cars.

Should I only use 22 inch radius track throughout the layout?

I now have a layout with 2 number 4 remote switches since my layout has 22 inch radius track.
I plan on adding another set that comes with 18 radius track. Should I only use number 4 switches throughput the layout.
